History

The roots of the Christian Education Association are closely tied to the Christian Education Conference (which began in 1961).  In 1986, the Association of Leaders in Christian Ministry (ALCM) was formed and a few years later the name changed to Christian Education Association (CEA).

CEA was formed to bring together Christian educators throughout the churches of Christ. Over the years, CEA has grown into a strong network of ministers, church leaders, and bible class teachers who work together to promote and improve spiritual development within churches throughout the world.
